Court registry fee subdistrict court 2025

If you have disputes regarding your employment contract, tenancy agreement or (consumer) purchase contract, you go to the subdistrict court.
You can also bring claims of up to € 25,000 before the subdistrict court. In this case, only the claimant (the party starting the court case) has to pay the court registry fee.
The defendant (the party defending the court case) therefore does not initially have to pay a court registry fee.
The court ultimately decides whether the claimant or the defendant must bear these costs, or whether these costs are shared. Usually the losing party has to pay the costs of the court case.
This is called an order for costs. It includes, among other things, the court registry fees.
The court registry fee has been updated for the year 2025.
